DESCRIPTION
This series explores further applications and techniques using Original Amber Glaze. It is a small format series, meant for limited-edition prints. This series is a contemplation of the concept of reversibility and irreversibility and how we process it facing turning points in our life.
It is inspired by the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy, centred on the acceptance of transience and imperfection, as well as the wabi-sabi ceramics aesthetics.
All artwork is abstract, using two colours: Original Amber Glaze and Titanium White White Acrylic Paint, on small, 16 x 20”, gallery unwrapped canvas.

Limited-edition prints, 50 pieces each, all framed & ready to hang on the wall. All prints have a unique serial number and come with a digital Certificate of Authenticity.
Regular prints:
- printed on sustainable Hahnemühle German Etching Paper (310gsm), using water-based inks (100+ year colour guarantee)
- framed without mount in wooden, hand-made, dark brown frames (hangers included)
Embossed prints:
- printed on Eco Canvas or sustainable Hahnemühle German Etching Paper (310gsm),
- framed with mount (5-7cm) in wooden, hand-made, dark brown frames (hangers included).
Different sizes or copies can be commissioned.

MATERIAL & FINISH
Izabela Sara Skolimowska works with her own crafted media, combined with a limited colour range of acrylic paint, paper, gypsum and other organic media.
Her key medium is Original Amber Glaze, that she has developed over the past few years. It is a coffee-based mix of organic and synthetic ingredients that gives her artworks a glossy texture and distinctive shades of amber hues, from deep dark to light warm. Solo, it gives a tarry, glaze-like texture. When mixed with different media, it produces a range of spontaneous patterns and effects, depending on the concentration and volume used.
Her artworks are textured, including thick spatula and brush strokes, natural cracks, and layers of various media. The use of crafted organic ingredients in her paintings makes the whole painting process and the results unconventional, compelling, and also more environmentally friendly. One of her goals is to develop all her painting media and make them as sustainable as possible.
